Kristine McSheffrey Bio

My name is Kristine McSheffrey, I am an alumni of Spaulding High School, class of 94 and grew up in Barre,Vermont.  I am a proud graduate (valedictorian of my class) of the Hotel, Restaurant and Service Management degree program with a concentration in Culinary Arts, from Newbury College. I have worked in the food service industry in some capacity since I was in highschool.  I moved to Boston in 1999 where I gained extensive restaurant experience varying from casual dining, fine dining, high volume catering, to corporate chef positions that landed me in places with premier dining rooms such as the Museum of Fine Arts, the John Hancock Tower and Harvard Law School.

I moved back to Vermont in 2013 to work with my brother at his restaurants and to be the the head Chef of the Country Club of Barre. I then applied for the Culinary Arts instructor position at CVCC, I was hired and have been forever changed. I am a mentor to new teachers, and volunteer to be on the Licensing Standards Board to help teachers navigate through the license renewal process. My greatest accomplishment so far was being awarded outstanding educator of the year in 2023. I wholeheartedly enjoy the work I do with students at CVCC and look forward to being able to share my experiences and expertise with them throughout the year.

I love to travel, research restaurants, eat food, read about food, develop recipes and most of all hang out with my dog Muppet. My door is always open!
