Jody Emerson Bio

Hello, my name is Jody Emerson, and I am the Director of the Central Vermont Career Center and Superintendent of the Central Vermont Career Center School District. I have a deep, personal commitment to technical education, as many of my family members, including my son, have succeeded directly because of their technical education opportunities.

I grew up in Newbury, VT, and attended Middlebury College, where I earned my BA in History and Secondary Education. I later earned a Master’s in School Leadership at St. Michael’s College and, more recently, a second master’s from the International Institute of Restorative Practices. I began my first full-time teaching position at Spaulding High School in 1999. In 2013, I left teaching to become an Assistant Principal, and later Associate Principal, at U-32 Middle & High School in East Montpelier, VT. I am currently pursuing my doctorate at Southern New Hampshire University.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, paddleboarding, swimming, and reading.
